How to Care for Your Lash Extensions
You've just invested in a beautiful set of Russian Volume lashes at Al Safy Oasis, and you want them to last as long as possible. We get it! While our expert application ensures the best retention, your home care routine plays a massive role in how long your lashes stay fluffy and full.
The First 24-48 Hours
Although modern adhesives cure faster, we still recommend being gentle for the first 24 hours. Avoid excessive steam, saunas, or swimming immediately after your appointment to allow the bond to fully set.
Daily Cleaning is Non-Negotiable
One common myth is that you shouldn't get your extensions wet. This is false! In fact, not washing your lashes can lead to buildup of oil, makeup, and dead skin cells, which can break down the adhesive and even cause infections like blepharitis.
- Use a specialized lash shampoo or an oil-free foam cleanser.
- Gently brush through your lashes with a cleaning brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with cool water and pat dry (don't rub!).
Brushing is Key
Keep a clean spoolie (mascara wand) handy. Gently brush your lashes every morning to keep them fluffy and separated. This prevents them from crisscrossing or looking messy as they grow out.
Avoid Oils
Oil is the enemy of lash adhesive. Check your skincare products, makeup removers, and mascaras. Avoid using oil-based products around the eye area, as they can weaken the bond and cause premature shedding.
Sleep Habits
Try to sleep on your back if possible. Sleeping face-down can crush your extensions. If you're a side sleeper, consider a silk pillowcase—it's gentler on both your lashes and your skin!
Follow these tips, and your lashes will look stunning until your next refill appointment!
